The article is a preview of the upcoming season of the Southern Methodist Mustangs of the C-USA – West conference in Division I-A college football. We’ll break down each game of this 2011 season for the Mustangs and let you know how their season will end up.
Let’s take a look at the start of the season for the Southern Methodist Mustangs. The Mustangs will begin the season against the Texas A&M Aggies and will hope to get a week 1 win. Watch this college game Sunday of week 1. This is a Big East showdown you dont’ want to miss! The Texas A&M Aggies rushed for 165.0 yards per game in 2010. The Texas A&M Aggies completed the season last year with a record of 9 – 4. You gotta go with the Texas A&M Aggies in this Sunday game.
Get ready for week 2 when you Mustangs will go head to head with the the Miners of UTEP. Saturday the 10th of September is the date of this contest. Conference games are always a little more important than other games and this is a C-USA – West conference battle. On offense, the Miners ranked 71st in scoring. I think I’m going with the Mustangs in this game. As we look at their records from 2010, the Mustangs came in at 7 – 7 while the Miners finished at 6 – 7.
Get ready for week 3 when you Mustangs will go head to head with the the Demons of Northwestern State. This game will be on Saturday the 17th of September. Should we just hand this game to the Mustangs? They’re going against a division I-AA team. Chalk this one up.
NCAA football just gets better every week. In week 4, the Southern Methodist Mustangs go head to head with the Memphis Tigers. Tune into this game on Saturday the 24th of September. Conference games are always a little more important than other games and this is a C-USA – West conference battle. On offense, the Memphis Tigers ranked 119th in scoring. The Memphis Tigers ended last year with a record of 1 – 11 in 2010. In looking at all of these number, my pick for this game is the Mustangs.
In this week 5 action, we have the Southern Methodist Mustangs going against the Horned Frogs of TCU. This game will be on Friday the 30th of September. Conference games are always a little more important than other games and this is a C-USA – West conference battle. On offense, the Memphis Tigers ranked 119th in scoring. The Memphis Tigers ended last year with a record of 1 – 11 in 2010. In looking at all of these number, my pick for this game is the Mustangs.
Week 7 finds the Mustangs facing the UCF Knights. Look for this game on Saturday in week 7. Conference games are always a little more important than other games and this is a C-USA – West conference battle. On offense, the UCF Knights ranked 31st in scoring. The UCF Knights averaged 32.1 points each game last year while the Southern Methodist Mustangs had 25.7 on the board as an average last year. The most important thing to look at is the record of the respective teams and, in this respect, the UCF Knights were 11 – 3 in 2010. Stats tell a lot and in this game they tell us that the UCF Knights will win this one.
In week 8 of 2011 college football, the Southern Methodist Mustangs will prepare for the Southern Miss Golden Eagles. Look for this game on Saturday, October 22nd, 2011. Conference games are always a little more important than other games and this is a C-USA – West conference battle. Last year the Southern Miss Golden Eagles opponents scored an average of 29.5 while the Mustangs allowed 25.6 per game.
In week 9 of 2011 college football, the Southern Methodist Mustangs will prepare for the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. This game will be on Saturday the 29th of October. If you wanted a conference showdown, this week 9 you got it. Last year, the Mustangs came in at 7 – 7 and the Golden Hurricane completed the season at 10 – 3. One thing that adds to the level of excitement about this contest is that it is a conference rivalry. Both of these teams are in the C-USA – West conference. The Tulane Green Wave ranked 80th in scoring last year.
Are you ready for week 11? Your Mustangs will play the Midshipmen of Navy. This Mustangs Midshipmen contest falls on Saturday of week 11. One thing that adds to the level of excitement about this contest is that it is a conference rivalry. Both of these teams are in the C-USA – West conference. You have to score and the Navy Midshipmen ranked 45th in this category in 2010. The Navy Midshipmen will take this game. The Navy Midshipmen completed the 2010 season with a record of 9 – 4 last year.
It’s week 12 of 2011 college football and the Mustangs have a showdown with the Cougars of Houston. Tune into the Mustangs Cougars game on 19th of November which is on Saturday of week 12. The Mustangs and the Cougars are both in the C-USA – West conference heightening the importance of this game for both teams. The most important thing to look at is the record of the respective teams and, in this respect, the Cougars were 5 – 7 in 2010.
Get ready for week 13 when you Mustangs will go head to head with the the Owls of Rice. This game will be on Saturday the 26th of November. Both of these team are in the C-USA – West conference. The numbers tell a story. The Owls finished last year ranked 64th in passing and 51st running the football. In looking at the performance of Owls in 2010, they finished the season at 4 – 8. When all is said and done, my pick goes to the Mustangs.
Are you ready for my prediction? The Southern Methodist Mustangs will end the season with a winning record of 6 – 6.
